I design it, build it,and keep it running.
One-man dev studio engineering production MVPs, custom mobile and web apps, and SaaS for small and mid-sized businesses. UI/UX veteran for Toyota Research, Cisco, Sysdig, and SAIC Motors. Ratchet AI: solo to the App Store in thirty days.

Research & problem framing

Fourteen years of this part: user journeys, stakeholder pain points, UX metrics with baselines. It is also where I kill my own ideas — Ratchet started as a post-modern sci-fi tuner interface, and the honest answer was that it needed to read as an AI app instead.

Ratchet AI / Starfox Industries
An AI mechanic. React Native iOS/Android app that pairs an OBD2 Bluetooth adapter with tier-based LLM diagnostics — DeepSeek V3 and Claude, voice interaction, hard safety gates on brakes and airbags, and a Tuner Mode logging 40+ live PIDs. Designed and shipped solo.

Mesh Sculptor
A paired-down version of my web competitor to ZBrush. Woven is a suite of tools built to re-engineer the 3D pipeline directly for WebGPU and the open web—allowing you to author and edit assets at the exact level you plan to consume them. With AI-assisted workflows, we can deliver AAA quality at an indie price point and circumvent the walled gardens of consoles and Steam.
Direct to WebGPU
Traditional pipelines sculpt in desktop software, bake maps, and hope the web engine renders them decently. Woven lets you sculpt, paint, and shade in the exact same WebGL/WebGPU runtime your audience runs—what you see in the viewport is byte-for-byte what ships.
AAA Quality, Indie Economics
Combining image-to-3D inference (Trellis2), automated retopology, and procedural shader graphs removes the multi-million-dollar polish tax. A solo creator can produce high-density 67K assets like the ramen bowl above without a 50-person art team.
Bypass Steam & Consoles
No 30% Steam or console platform cuts, no mandatory 80 GB downloads, and no app store gatekeepers. Shipped directly over URLs, playable in modern desktop and mobile browsers on day zero.

MVPs & Custom Apps, complete
A business problem in, a shipped MVP or custom application out. Research, visual design, app, backend, store submission, payments, analytics. Fast delivery for startups and small-to-mid businesses.
Dev-as-a-service subscription
A monthly slot on my calendar instead of a bloated agency retainer. Pause anytime, renew anytime. Best for small and mid-sized businesses that need continuous shipping without overhead.
B2B SaaS & AI specialist work
Custom B2B SaaS platforms, LLM surfaces, inference UX, and web 3D pipelines. The caliber of work TRI, Sysdig, John Deere, and OmniAb hired me for, delivered by a solo dev studio.
Why hire a one-man dev studio instead of a software agency?
No account managers, no junior handoffs, and zero telephone games between design and engineering. You collaborate directly with one person who architects the system, writes the code, and ships to production.
Do you build MVPs, custom apps, and SaaS for small & mid-sized businesses?
Yes. I build production-grade MVPs for founders and custom web/mobile apps or SaaS platforms for growing small and mid-sized businesses. From internal workflow hubs to customer-facing subscription SaaS with auth and billing, you get end-to-end delivery in weeks, not quarters.
You're a designer. Can you really build it?
Ratchet AI is on the App Store: React Native app, Node backend, Stripe web payments, RevenueCat IAP, PostHog analytics. Designed, written and submitted by me in about thirty days.
Do you use AI to write the code?
Yes — Claude Code and Codex, in plan mode, with me reading every diff. You still have to be a designer first: AI kills the polish tax, not the thinking. Wrong flow built fast is still a wrong flow.
Who owns the code?
You do. Your repo, your cloud, your app-store accounts, your domain. Nothing proprietary of mine sits in the middle and nothing makes leaving expensive.
What happens if you get hit by a bus?
Everything is documented and standard — React Native, Node, Postgres, Vercel, Figma. A competent contractor can pick it up cold. That's a design constraint, not an afterthought.
Will you take on design-only work?
Rarely, and only where someone credible is building. Screens nobody shipped are why this studio exists.
How fast can you start?
One build runs at a time. Scoping calls this week; subscription slots open month to month.
Tell me what should exist.I'll tell you what it takes.
A paragraph is enough to start. You get a real answer from the person who would design it, build it and submit it — scope, rough number, and whether I'm the wrong choice.
